My little boy loves his DS and has been mad saving to buy the DSI XL.
Purchased from Amazon with 24 hour delivery took 48 hours which was a disappointment.
On receiving the DSI XL both my little boy and me were amazed how much bigger it is and the quality is superb.
The camera is a fun additional allsorts you can do to change your appearance, not always complementary, you can also record you voice and change the way it sounds again very entertaining.
Games look so much better on the big screen.
You can surf the internet with a wifi signal, this is both fast and clear, you can shop on the DS shop and download games, you buy tokens to download games.
The DSI XL did have a few problems with the camera and software, an error message kept showing, eventually we decided to send it back for a replacement. This was very easy to do via Amazon, only negative is I pay for the 24 hour delivery but the replacement was sent standard 6 day postage which was very upsetting for my little boy.
Replacement seems to be fine.
An excellent product, good service from Amazon but It could have been better regarding sending the replacement.
The XL screen size makes a difference!

The large screen on the XL makes a huge difference to playing the games. Images are sharper and you don’t find yourself squinting. Well done Nintendo!

Very happy with the upgrade to XL.I have one minor gripe,the letters appear slightly fuzzy.otherwise fantastic and delighted with it .

This is an amazing product that lives up to all the hype of the adverts and specifications.
It’s not too heavy, but once you pick up your DS Lite you’ll feel and see the difference and wont want to go back.
The only downfall is the lack of a GBA Slot which means no playing GBA games or transferring data from GBA to DS games.
Overall thoroughly worth the money.

My husband and I have been sharing a ds for years but decided if we were to have one each, the larger machine would be a good idea. How right we were. We now squabble over who has which! There is not a great improvement when doing brain training but I have the classic books which is much better on the xl and my husband likes things like Pandora’s box which is better with the bigger screen.Definitely a good investment.

A wonderful update if you don’t have a DS console and/or do not play pokemon games.
The larger screen, longer battery life and better sound are wonderful.
The cost of upgrading any other working DS console to this however, is not.
Does everything the DSi does better, if you want a DS its either this or a DS lite which is still the champion of hand held gaming – though you will miss out on the rather nice games store which has some gems in it.
